Monitor Huáscar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudio Quiroga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Monitor Huáscar's Claudio Quiroga slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Aytek Samin. That made the score 1-1 after 12 minutes of play. Claudio Quiroga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Aytek Samin made a huge save. Claudio Quiroga was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 43rd minute. Monitor Huáscar's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Aytek Samin was out of position in the 45 minute of play, and Claudio Quiroga capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Claudio Quiroga really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Martin Videl made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Claudio Quiroga in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. Monitor Huáscar's attentive Gines Hubieta managed to snatch the ball when Santiago Opilano made a throw-in in the 63rd minute of the game. After 76 minutes El Retorno de Palermo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Paulo Fallabes who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Carlos Galván managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. 78 minutes into the match, El Retorno de Palermo's goal looked a bit too open when Claudio Quiroga came free, but Aytek Samin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80thth minute of the game Claudio Quiroga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but El Retorno de Palermo's Aytek Samin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Aytek Samin came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Monitor Huáscar's Claudio Quiroga. But to his dismay, Claudio Quiroga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Monitor Huáscar's Tom Bom was substituted for İdris Demir. 87 minutes into the match, Monitor Huáscar's Claudio Quiroga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aytek Samin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With an all-out effort, El Retorno de Palermo's Apostol Sokolov threw himself towards the right post 88 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Aldo Fernanco, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Claudio Quiroga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monitor Huáscar's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudio Quiroga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aytek Samin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Monitor Huáscar were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of El Retorno de Palermo for a fine match.
