Black is Back's Kristóf Balázs played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wal McVean in the 14th minute of play. In the 14th minute Wal McVean shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kristóf Balázs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Otto Kaxe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 21st minute, Atacan Tuncay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute, Black is Back's Gilbert Sjögren seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Gilbert Sjögren the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Black is Back protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Gilbert Sjögren had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Black is Back fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 25th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Smiddy Celts a penalty, 27 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Laerte Tande, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Black is Back's Kristóf Balázs. 0-1. Paddy Thomson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristóf Balázs having to interfere. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Black is Back's goalkeeper Kristóf Balázs, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Smiddy Celts's Jesse McJames proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Smiddy Celts from getting a goal against them. Jesse McJames was a little too slow when Otto Kaxe got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 42nd minute. The score was now 1-1. In the 46th minute, Phillip McKeochan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Smiddy Celts fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Phillip McKeochan to strike the kick off in the second half. Kristóf Balázs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Phillip McKeochan, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. It was Laerte Tande who took care of the corner kick. The Black is Back fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Smiddy Celts were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
