After 19 minutes, Zac Ba Loua mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rio Verde F.C CIMZ and the Castanheiro SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Zac Ba Loua hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Marcelo Eger received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Paulo de Mendonça came out and tried to block the shot, but Marcelo Eger slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 22nd minute. A collision led to Castanheiro SC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Marco Bezerra hit a great ball. Doni Seco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christoffer Kempel in the 28th minute of play. The corner led Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's Perivaldo Pimenta to fire away a dangerous shot which Doni Seco despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 31 played minutes Rio Verde F.C CIMZ got a freekick which was hit by Perivaldo Pimenta. After a rather tough play, Castanheiro SC's Júnior Alagoano got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Paulo de Mendonça made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcelo Eger in the 35th minute. 36 minutes into the game, Luisinho Seco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Castanheiro SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rio Verde F.C CIMZ the free kick. 37 minutes into the game, Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's Sabo D Agostino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Doni Seco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 43rd match minute, Castanheiro SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisinho Seco to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Sabo D Agostino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Sabo D Agostino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Doni Seco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 45th minute Mauro Sarmento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo de Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zac Ba Loua to make the kick off. In the 50th match minute, Castanheiro SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Eger to maneuver through the defense. Mauro Sarmento might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulo de Mendonça. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mauro Sarmento ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 56th minute, Christoffer Kempel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Ronaldo Pinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Castanheiro SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronaldo Pinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Perivaldo Pimenta in the 75th minute of play forced Castanheiro SC's goalkeeper Doni Seco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Doni Seco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Perivaldo Pimenta, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. A collision led to Castanheiro SC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Marcelo Eger hit a great ball. Paulo de Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Júnior Alagoano in the 81st minute of the match. Ronaldo Pinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo de Mendonça having to interfere. In the 85th minute, Cesinha Mazza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Mauro Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 94 minutes of play, Castanheiro SC's Mauro Sarmento made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paulo de Mendonça was left in no man's land by his defense there! There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Castanheiro SC fully deserved thier win.
