In the 8th minute, Mauro Sarmento made a precise shot to the right of Radenko Mayer. KFC Uerdingen 05's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. When Castanheiro SC's Mauro Sarmento in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Marcelo Eger might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Radenko Mayer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcelo Eger ran back to his position shaking his head. 27 minutes into the match, KFC Uerdingen 05's goal looked a bit too open when Mauro Sarmento came free, but Radenko Mayer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute, Mauro Sarmento made a precise shot to the right of Radenko Mayer. KFC Uerdingen 05's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. After a defensive mix-up in Castanheiro SC's zone, Manfred Andrau stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Doni Seco came out of the goal and Manfred Andrau tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mauro Sarmento's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Radenko Mayer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. KFC Uerdingen 05's Radenko Mayer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save KFC Uerdingen 05 from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcelo Eger got free with Radenko Mayer in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mauro Sarmento in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Radenko Mayer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In a very dangerous position, a player in KFC Uerdingen 05 fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 44th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Castanheiro SC a penalty, 46 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Mauro Sarmento, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of KFC Uerdingen 05's Radenko Mayer. 4-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcelo Eger stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Marcelo Eger's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Radenko Mayer was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. In the 56th minute Mauro Sarmento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radenko Mayer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 58 played minutes KFC Uerdingen 05 got a freekick which was hit by Karsten Illgner. 62 minutes into the match, Castanheiro SC's goal looked a bit too open when Ratko Leibold came free, but Doni Seco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Radenko Mayer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Sarmento in the 65th minute of play. Mauro Sarmento's late challenge caught a KFC Uerdingen 05's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mauro Sarmento helped the player get up and apologised. In the 70th match minute, Castanheiro SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauro Sarmento to maneuver through the defense. Radenko Mayer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Sarmento in the 78th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Castanheiro SC's Júnior Alagoano got a free kick in the 79th minute. Ronaldo Pinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Radenko Mayer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 86 played minutes KFC Uerdingen 05 got a freekick which was hit by Gregor Reinauer. Mauro Sarmento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 89 minutes into the match, Júnior Alagoano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Radenko Mayer. KFC Uerdingen 05's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Júnior Alagoano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. KFC Uerdingen 05's Radenko Mayer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júnior Alagoano in the 92nd minute of play. A collision led to KFC Uerdingen 05 getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Kai Laakmann hit a great ball. Radenko Mayer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelo Eger, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. When the referee ended the match the Castanheiro SC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
