An unexpectedly hard shot by Leandro Cordarin in the 30th minute of play forced Palmeiras's goalkeeper Váldson de Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Palmeiras's Váldson de Queirós got control of the ball when Jose Aritza tried to sneak it across the goal line.
