In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind AF CERRADO's goalkeeper Lúcio Mandrak, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 22 minutes into the match, Júnior Alagoano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lúcio Mandrak. AF CERRADO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Júnior Alagoano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 25 minutes into the game, Geovani Madureira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Castanheiro SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AF CERRADO the free kick. After 25 played minutes Castanheiro SC got a freekick which was hit by Geovani Madureira. In the 30th minute, Ronaldo Pinho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Castanheiro SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After 35 played minutes Castanheiro SC got a freekick which was hit by Luisinho Seco. Castanheiro SC's Doni Seco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ezequiel Melo in the 38th minute of play. Júnior Alagoano charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Júnior Alagoano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Castanheiro SC's Júnior Alagoano got a free kick in the 39th minute. Doni Seco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arí Motta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to AF CERRADO getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Arí Motta hit a great ball. In the 47th minute, Serafim Cearense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Didi Gaúcho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Doni Seco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcelo Eger made a kick off. Sandro Dionísio hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Arí Motta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 59 minutes into the match, Mauro Sarmento notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of AF CERRADO's Lúcio Mandrak. Lúcio Mandrak was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Wellington Schmidt kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Marcelo Eger got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Castanheiro SC's Marcelo Eger managed to work through AF CERRADO's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Marcelo Eger dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Doni Seco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arí Motta in the 68th minute of play. 74 minutes into the match, Didi Gaúcho notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Castanheiro SC's Doni Seco. Doni Seco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Telmo da Fonseca kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcelo Eger got free with Lúcio Mandrak in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Artur Sergipano hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Lúcio Mandrak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo Pinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Doni Seco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artur Sergipano in the 87th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcelo Eger in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lúcio Mandrak prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of AF CERRADO booed when Castanheiro SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisinho Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute Didi Gaúcho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doni Seco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The AF CERRADO manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Castanheiro SC to win.
