C.'s Vítor Sousa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Severino Alcântara came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SORRISO E. C. reached it. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Alberto Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot. SORRISO E. C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Mendonça was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Severino Alcântara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 21st minute of the match AF CERRADO got a corner. SORRISO E. C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nestor Cordeiro ran over to the corner to take the kick. 22 minutes into the game, Mateus Salgado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SORRISO E. C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AF CERRADO the free kick. The supporters of AF CERRADO booed when SORRISO E. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateus Salgado didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Severino Alcântara managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when SORRISO E. C.'s Alberto Mendonça fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of SORRISO E. C. booed when AF CERRADO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wellington Schmidt didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Mendonça got free with Severino Alcântara in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alberto Mendonça did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Severino Alcântara 29 minutes into the match. Alberto Mendonça who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 35thth minute tested the skills of Severino Alcântara when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 45 minutes into the match, Didi Gaúcho notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of SORRISO E. C.'s Valdo Catarinense. Valdo Catarinense was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

In the 51st minute, AF CERRADO's Ezequiel Melo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Valdo Catarinense. Valdo Catarinense yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Horácio Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot. SORRISO E. C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Horácio Pereira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Severino Alcântara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of AF CERRADO booed when SORRISO E. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cláudio Couto didn't get a good kick on the ball. SORRISO E. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valdo Catarinense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of SORRISO E. C. booed when AF CERRADO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandro Dionísio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in AF CERRADO's zone, Horácio Pereira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Severino Alcântara came out of the goal and Horácio Pereira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when David Loureiro got free with Valdo Catarinense in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. David Loureiro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 93rdth minute tested the skills of Valdo Catarinense when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 94 played minutes SORRISO E. C. got a freekick which was hit by Agostinho Pombal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. AF CERRADO walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
