Valdo Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruy Fantini in the 9th minute of play. In the 11th minute of the match A.A. Francana got a corner. SORRISO E. Arnaldo Ramos scored 5-1 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Valdo Catarinense, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-1 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alberto Mendonça made a kick off. In the 52nd match minute, A.A. Francana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Válbson Soeiro to maneuver through the defense. Telmo Trigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Mendonça in the 54th minute of the match. Ruy Fantini's late challenge caught a SORRISO E. C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ruy Fantini helped the player get up and apologised. Telmo Trigo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 89 minutes, João Adolfo Leite managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A.A. Francana's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Adolfo Leite was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 92nd minute, Alberto Mendonça left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SORRISO E. C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-2. A collision led to A.A. Francana getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Arnaldo Ramos hit a great ball. Horácio Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
