After 6 played minutes Clube do Remo MZ got a freekick which was hit by Walmyr Dionísio. 7 minutes into the match, Clube do Remo MZ's goal looked a bit too open when Didi Gaúcho came free, but Frederico Smith reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to AF CERRADO getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Nestor Cordeiro hit a great ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 18 minutes into the game, when Bruno Dionísio put in a rough tackle. Didi Gaúcho hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 26th minute, Samuel Reis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edinho Vasconcelos struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Lúcio Mandrak didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Clube do Remo MZ. Hélder Mangueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Lúcio Mandrak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hélder Mangueira kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Frederico Smith showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arí Motta in the 42nd minute of the match. 43 minutes into the game, Didi Gaúcho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Frederico Smith was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Arí Motta made the kick off in the second half. When Edinho Vasconcelos came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Clube do Remo MZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edinho Vasconcelos couldn't finish the play. Clube do Remo MZ's Toninho de Mendonça got his second yellow card of the match in the 54th minute. The referee ordered Toninho de Mendonça off the ground. After a defensive mix-up in AF CERRADO's zone, Elivélton Valladares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lúcio Mandrak came out of the goal and Elivélton Valladares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Clube do Remo MZ made a substitution. Ricardinho Simão replaced Elivélton Valladares. After 77 played minutes Clube do Remo MZ got a freekick which was hit by Walmyr Dionísio. After 77 played minutes, AF CERRADO's Nestor Cordeiro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Frederico Smith came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in AF CERRADO reached it. In the 79th minute, Ismael Mandrak got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hélder Mangueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edinho Vasconcelos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Mandrak having to interfere. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Clube do Remo MZ's goalkeeper Frederico Smith, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
