With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ian Salles in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Telmo Trigo saved A.A. Francana from getting behind. In the 13th match minute, Merusca F&P - CIMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nico Neves to maneuver through the defense. 15 minutes into the game, Edmílson Vidal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Merusca F&P - CIMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave A.A. Francana the free kick. In the 15th minute, Edmílson Vidal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adelino Costa scored 0-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Telmo Trigo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the A.A. Francana defense, Adelino Costa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Telmo Trigo. The A.A. Francana fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Telmo Trigo should have stopped the shot. 30 minutes into the match, Merusca F&P - CIMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Arnaldo Ramos came free, but Rodriguinho Pernambucano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 35 minutes, Edmílson Vidal made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. A.A. Francana's Telmo Trigo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 37th minute, Adelino Costa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Telmo Trigo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. After 43 minutes of play, Merusca F&P - CIMZ's Edmílson Vidal made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Telmo Trigo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and João Adolfo Leite made a kick off. Adelino Costa's late challenge caught a A.A. Francana's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adelino Costa helped the player get up and apologised. Adelino Costa hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmílson Vidal got free with Telmo Trigo in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 56 minutes into the match, Edmílson Vidal dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Telmo Trigo, 0-6. Ian Salles was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 63rd minute. Merusca F&P - CIMZ's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 64th minute, Edmílson Vidal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Telmo Trigo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. In the 75th minute, Válbson Loyola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dieguinho Rossi was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 77th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 82nd minute, Ian Salles fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Telmo Trigo, passed just outside the right post. When Válbson Loyola fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored A.A. Francana's protests and gave Válbson Loyola a yellow card for diving instead. After 87 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for A.A. Francana! In the 89th minute there was a penalty for Merusca F&P - CIMZ. Dieguinho Rossi stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Telmo Trigo. 0-8. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaldo Ramos in the 92nd minute of play forced Merusca F&P - CIMZ's goalkeeper Rodriguinho Pernambucano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Merusca F&P - CIMZ booed when A.A. Francana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Válbson Loyola didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vinícius Pontes hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match.
