Vivaldo Munhoz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Telmo Trigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Pedro Mendes in the 13th minute of the match. Gilvan Paes kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 30th minute, Vivaldo Munhoz made a precise shot to the right of Telmo Trigo. A.A. Francana's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. A collision led to A.A. Francana getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Ruy Fantini hit a great ball. Zé Pedro Mendes's late challenge caught a A.A. Francana's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zé Pedro Mendes helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Goblins F.C.'s Zé Pedro Mendes got a free kick in the 36th minute. A.A. Francana's Telmo Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Pedro Mendes in the 40th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in A.A. Francana's zone, Vivaldo Munhoz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Telmo Trigo came out of the goal and Vivaldo Munhoz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Goblins F.C. were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Vivaldo Munhoz made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zé Pedro Mendes in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Telmo Trigo saved A.A. Francana from getting behind. After a rather tough play, A.A. Francana's Válbson Soeiro got a free kick in the 63rd minute. After 64 minutes, Zé Pedro Mendes made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. A.A. Francana's Telmo Trigo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 67 minutes, Agostinho Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Goblins F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Agostinho Borges was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match clock showed 68 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Válbson Soeiro sped through Goblins F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Arnaldo de Carvalho. Válbson Soeiro was shown his second yellow card after 74 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to A.A. Francana getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Válbson Soeiro hit a great ball. Agostinho Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute, Vivaldo Munhoz reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Telmo Trigo. The goal made the score 1-4. Arnaldo de Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Adolfo Leite, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 90 minutes into the match, A.A. Francana's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Pedro Mendes came free, but Telmo Trigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vivaldo Munhoz in the 91st minute of play forced A.A. Francana's goalkeeper Telmo Trigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd minute, Agostinho Borges got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Goblins F.C.'s supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
