The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Mendonça in the 4th minute of play forced Cactos's goalkeeper Bran Allison to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cengizhan Baycan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Naldo Proença having to interfere. The supporters of Scarlet Speedster booed when Cactos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberigo Palomba didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cengizhan Baycan in the 16th minute of play forced Scarlet Speedster's goalkeeper Naldo Proença to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 22 minutes of play, Cactos's Cengizhan Baycan made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Naldo Proença was left in no man's land by his defense there! Naldo Proença made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cengizhan Baycan in the 25th minute of play. Scarlet Speedster's Naldo Proença played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurinho Trezeguet in the 28th minute of play. In the 34th minute Fausto Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bran Allison saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Raigo Vananurm came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Scarlet Speedster fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raigo Vananurm couldn't finish the play. Scarlet Speedster's Naldo Proença played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cengizhan Baycan in the 38th minute of play. If Fausto Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Matias Gaitan fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cactos's protests and gave Matias Gaitan a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Cactos getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Matias Gaitan hit a great ball. 47 minutes into the match, Fausto Mendonça notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Cactos's Bran Allison. Bran Allison was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cengizhan Baycan was the one to do the kick off. Bran Allison made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Fausto Mendonça sent off a good shot on target. After 63 played minutes Scarlet Speedster got a freekick which was hit by 龚棋岩. 龚棋岩 hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Scarlet Speedster's Jens-Ove Eriksson got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 74th minute, Edward Krzynowek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 81 minutes into the match, Scarlet Speedster's Fausto Mendonça sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bran Allison narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Cactos fans' excitement grew in the 83rd match minute when Cactos's Luisinho Maciel looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 86th minute, one of Scarlet Speedster:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Scarlet Speedster. Bran Allison made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Raigo Vananurm sent off a good shot on target.
