Patricio Ugutz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dale Dolar to make the kick off. Patricio Ugutz was a little too slow when German Cano got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 57th minute. The score was now 1-2. After 63 played minutes Marquês de Herval got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Luís da Rocha. Barcellos Mineiro FC's Jorge Carrascal was substituted for Dale Dolar. After a rather tough play, Marquês de Herval's Pedro Luís da Rocha got a free kick in the 64th minute. Dida Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olavi Vilo, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. A nice corner shot did that Amílton Loyola got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dida Taffarel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Alfredo Martins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Patricio Ugutz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nestor Paraibano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dida Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tang Yang Le in the 87th minute of play. 88 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goal looked a bit too open when Tang Yang Le came free, but Dida Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st match minute, Marquês de Herval was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by German Cano to maneuver through the defense. Dida Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Carrascal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Marquês de Herval supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Marquês de Herval would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
