In the 37th minute Börje Linquist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fábio Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Blumenau Esporte Clube's Lucas-Ignacio Lugano managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Rolf Sanchez in the 40 minute of the game. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bogdan Bambas made a kick off. It was a well-played corner which Gaspar Romero managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand.
