With an extended leg and a bit of luck François-Xavier Dionnet prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Silvano Bide blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcelinho Barral having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Basilio Fernandez got free with Marcelinho Barral in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Ruquense FC's Miroslaw Mielak got a free kick in the 27th minute. François-Xavier Dionnet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hulk Speed, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Marcelinho Barral made an important save on a dangerous shot by Basilio Fernandez in the 29th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Hulk Speed recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Michel Haaland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without François-Xavier Dionnet having to interfere. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Valdo das Neves the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Roceira SC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Valdo das Neves had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 79th minute, one of Roceira SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Roceira SC. Roceira SC:s Marcelinho Barral showed great skill when he stopped Leopoldo Tonio:s penalty. In the 84th minute Basilio Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelinho Barral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ruquense FC's François-Xavier Dionnet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hulk Speed in the 85th minute of play. In the 87th minute Remigio Quirze shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelinho Barral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg François-Xavier Dionnet managed to avoid a goal in the 89thth minute, when Roceira SC's Hulk Speed fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Hulk Speed sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Basilio Fernandez took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcelinho Barral. Marcelinho Barral dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Luís Paulo Trevisan hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match.
