Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Zvonimir Prestin kicked off to start the match. When Diego Maradona came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Sporting de Gijón fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diego Maradona couldn't finish the play. In the 7th minute, Hector Todor left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The PoWer SC 2K5 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 10th minute Zvonimir Prestin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Óscar Cordoba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Niceto Dominix hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Paul Mertesacker kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. In the 19th minute, Saturnino Curcio sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and PoWer SC 2K5's David Rotariu didn't even have to move. After having played for 23 minutes, Alejandro Rufo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting de Gijón's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alejandro Rufo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 25 minutes into the match, Zvonimir Prestin notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba. Óscar Cordoba was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 28 played minutes Sporting de Gijón got a freekick which was hit by Rune Fanström. David Rotariu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saturnino Curcio in the 32nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Matias Bilintx in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David Rotariu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Saturnino Curcio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 37 minutes into the match, PoWer SC 2K5's goal looked a bit too open when Alejandro Rufo came free, but David Rotariu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 38 minutes into the game, Sporting de Gijón's Diego Maradona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. David Rotariu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Bayezit Tecmil kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 41st minute, Saturnino Curcio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 43 minutes into the game, Matias Bilintx cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. David Rotariu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. David Rotariu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Saturnino Curcio, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. After taking down the ball on Sporting de Gijón's corner Saturnino Curcio fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and David Rotariu quite easily take care of the ball. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zvonimir Prestin in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Óscar Cordoba saved Sporting de Gijón from getting behind. The supporters of PoWer SC 2K5 booed when Sporting de Gijón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Maradona didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diego Maradona hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 59thth minute of the game Zvonimir Prestin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 61st minute of the match PoWer SC 2K5 got a corner. Sporting de Gijón's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Matthew Wagner ran over to the corner to take the kick. David Rotariu made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Matias Bilintx sent off a good shot on target. David Rotariu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rune Fanström in the 72nd minute. Óscar Cordoba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonas Klinsmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sporting de Gijón made a substitution. Atilano Feo replaced Carlo Crema. Sporting de Gijón made a substitution. Mario Zanabria replaced Saturnino Curcio. 81 minutes into the game, Mario Zanabria cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-4. David Rotariu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. David Rotariu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matias Bilintx, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Óscar Cordoba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leroy Kluttig in the 88th minute of the match. David Rotariu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Matias Bilintx in the 90th minute. In the 93rd minute of the match, Mario Zanabria got a very nice opportunity to score, but David Rotariu was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a rather tough play, Sporting de Gijón's Eustacio Loiola got a free kick in the 96th minute. The Sporting de Gijón supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sporting de Gijón would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
