Wayne Knoppertz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gust Rammer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karel Dautzenberg in the 17th minute of play forced U21 Belgium's goalkeeper Jean-Marie Van Bever to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
