Seating: 1184, VIP seats: 103) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Owen Vera started the match with the kick off. In the 7th minute, Fillip Sivananda left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Denmark fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 10th minute, Alex Wenike got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tigran Balayan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Wenike in the 12th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Steven McFadden got free with Einar Klysnov in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. U21 Denmark's Einar Klysnov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Owen Vera in the 16th minute of play. In the 18thth minute of the game Alex Wenike who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 United States's Tigran Balayan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 19th minute of the match U21 Denmark got a corner. U21 United States's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hassan Mylting ran over to the corner to take the kick. U21 Denmark's Hassan Mylting was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tigran Balayan in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 20 minutes into the match, Alex Wenike had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tigran Balayan. U21 United States's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alex Wenike was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 23rd minute Hassan Mylting shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tigran Balayan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kenney Højerby charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kenney Højerby the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, U21 Denmark's Kenney Højerby got a free kick in the 25th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Owen Vera got free with Einar Klysnov in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tigran Balayan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bo Dogel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Einar Klysnov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 47 minutes into the game, Bo Dogel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Denmark's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 United States the free kick. Bo Dogel hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
After some careless play in the U21 United States defense, Hassan Mylting kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tigran Balayan. The U21 United States fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tigran Balayan should have stopped the shot. After 64 played minutes U21 United States got a freekick which was hit by Lanny Valle. U21 Denmark made a substitution. Dan Vøge replaced Bo Dogel. U21 Denmark made a substitution. U21 United States's Tigran Balayan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save U21 United States from getting a goal against them. A collision led to U21 Denmark getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Dan Vøge hit a great ball. The supporters of U21 United States booed when U21 Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dan Vøge didn't get a good kick on the ball. Steven McFadden's late challenge caught a U21 Denmark's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Steven McFadden helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of U21 Denmark booed when U21 United States was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steven McFadden didn't get a good kick on the ball. 82 minutes into the game, Steven McFadden cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-4. Einar Klysnov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Alex Wenike's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tigran Balayan was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Alex Wenike in the 87thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tigran Balayan, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The U21 Denmark players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
