In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Liechtenstein's goalkeeper Alfons Telic, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 25th minute of the match U21 Colombia got a corner. U21 Liechtenstein's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bonifaco Sovera ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on U21 Colombia's corner Tibalt Bruna fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Alfons Telic quite easily take care of the ball. U21 Liechtenstein's Alfons Telic proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save U21 Liechtenstein from getting a goal against them. In the 32nd minute, U21 Colombia's Bonifaco Sovera ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Alfons Telic. Alfons Telic yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. In the 40th play minute Bonifaco Sovera came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Alfons Telic. 3-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zlatan Lewandowski to make the kick off. After some careless play in the U21 Liechtenstein defense, Bonifaco Sovera kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alfons Telic. The U21 Liechtenstein fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alfons Telic should have stopped the shot. Alfons Telic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zlatan Lewandowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 60 minutes U21 Liechtenstein's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bonifaco Sovera who took care of the corner kick. Bonifaco Sovera made a great header on U21 Colombia's corner, it was just that U21 Liechtenstein's Alfons Telic managed to reach the ball for a save. Zlatan Lewandowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Alfons Telic tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. U21 Colombia had won after a very even match.
