After 20 played minutes, Lechia Pępowo's Robert Wiatrak shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bruno Lanckneus came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lechia Pępowo reached it. The crowd rose to their feet as Internacional's Lambis Dimitropoulos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Witomir Hajder. That made the score 2-0 after 21 minutes of play. Bruno Lanckneus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stasio Bienienda, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 24th match minute, Internacional was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavinho Gerber to maneuver through the defense. Witomir Hajder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lambis Dimitropoulos in the 27th minute of the match. Lambis Dimitropoulos took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Witomir Hajder. After a defensive mix-up in Internacional's zone, Cyryl Ewertowski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 59 minutes into the match, Lambis Dimitropoulos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Witomir Hajder. Lechia Pępowo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lambis Dimitropoulos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0.
