Murilo Cavalcante charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Murilo Cavalcante the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Paulopolis getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Murilo Cavalcante hit a great ball. Paulopolis's Hakim Frémont played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ermis Panakakis in the 8th minute of play. 15 minutes into the game, O.T.E's Ermis Panakakis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hakim Frémont made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The supporters of Paulopolis booed when O.T.E was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lin Quan Hai didn't get a good kick on the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Paulopolis's goal looked a bit too open when Ermis Panakakis came free, but Hakim Frémont reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulopolis's Hakim Frémont played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donyo Dragiyski in the 25th minute of play. Stamatis Banasidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rui Baiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Paulopolis's Enio Freire got a free kick in the 29th minute. After 36 played minutes Paulopolis got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Luís Mello. Ermis Panakakis might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hakim Frémont. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ermis Panakakis ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 39th minute Ermis Panakakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hakim Frémont saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ermis Panakakis came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the O.T.E fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ermis Panakakis couldn't finish the play. In the 42nd minute, Ermis Panakakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stamatis Banasidis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lino Meira in the 44th minute of the match. O.T.E's Lin Quan Hai got his second yellow card of the match in the 46th minute. The referee ordered Lin Quan Hai off the ground. After 46 played minutes O.T.E got a freekick which was hit by Lin Quan Hai.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lino Meira was the one to do the kick off. Hakim Frémont made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ermis Panakakis in the 54th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ermis Panakakis in the 56th minute of play forced Paulopolis's goalkeeper Hakim Frémont to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Menelaos Anatolakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. 84 minutes into the game, Donyo Dragiyski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. O.T.E's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Paulopolis the free kick. After a rather tough play, O.T.E's Donyo Dragiyski got a free kick in the 84th minute. Paulopolis's Lino Meira got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hakim Frémont made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ermis Panakakis in the 93rd minute of play. Hakim Frémont showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diego Armando Hrabina, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. In the 95th minute, Paulopolis's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ermis Panakakis fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched O.T.E eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
