Orlando Barral came out of the goal and Enio Marinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Orlando Barral made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Nando de Alcântara sent off a good shot on target. With an all-out effort, Internacional's Orlando Barral threw himself towards the right post 41 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Enio Marinho, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

For all the effort they put into the match, the Barbie Doll United U23 players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
