Kerry Flöter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Jo Woo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th match minute, U21 Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mićo Grande to maneuver through the defense. In the 33rd minute, Kerry Flöter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Omar Volio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lee Kang in the 35th minute of the match. In the 36th minute, Paul Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 40th play minutes Lee Kang shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Omar Volio and just under the crossbar into goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by 김 연 in the 46th minute of play forced U21 Costa Rica's goalkeeper Omar Volio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The U21 Costa Rica players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. U21 South Korea were winning 0-2.

In the 54th minute, Kerry Flöter made a precise shot to the right of Jo Woo. U21 South Korea's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. The corner ended in Rex Pineda almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but U21 South Korea's Jo Woo did a great save. U21 Costa Rica's Omar Volio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lee Kang in the 77th minute of play. Jimmy-Floyd Sung kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. U21 South Korea's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
