After a rather tough play, U21 Peru's Iván Sotomayor got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 60th minute, Iván Sotomayor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oscar Ibañez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Medero Gadea, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. U21 Uruguay's Bidun Cases was substituted for Loreto Turienzo. Iván Sotomayor hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 78th match minute, U21 Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iván Sotomayor to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of U21 Peru booed when U21 Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexander Arnold didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle sounded U21 Peru left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than U21 Uruguay.
