Branislav Velchevski made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Angelo Rito sent off a good shot on target. Arnaldo Gabon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luciano Estebano having to make a save. In the 6th minute, Elpidio Francis made a precise shot to the right of Luciano Estebano. Ascacibar-Pérez's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Elpidio Francis looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 22 minutes into the game, Elpidio Francis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Luciano Estebano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bonifacio Suarez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Elpidio Francis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luciano Estebano having to make a save. Luciano Estebano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elpidio Francis in the 27th minute of the match. Luciano Estebano came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Arnaldo Gabon. But to his dismay, Arnaldo Gabon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. The audience thought a goal was coming when Angelo Rito got free with Branislav Velchevski in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 37th minute Angelo Rito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Branislav Velchevski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39th minute Olle Snell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luciano Estebano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luciano Estebano came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Elpidio Francis. But to his dismay, Elpidio Francis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. In the 48th minute ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA were awarded a corner. Miguel Prosperi went to the cornerflag to take it.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elpidio Francis to make the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Ascacibar-Pérez was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roman Etxekopar to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 55 minutes, the score became 0-6 when Elpidio Francis sped through Ascacibar-Pérez's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luciano Estebano. 60 minutes into the match, Ascacibar-Pérez's goalkeeper Luciano Estebano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elpidio Francis. Luciano Estebano was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Arnaldo Gabon showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-7 in the 63 minute of play. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA made a substitution. André Monclús replaced Miguel Prosperi. André Monclús's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luciano Estebano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. In the 74th match minute, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elpidio Francis to maneuver through the defense. Bonifacio Suarez hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. After 83 minutes, Bonifacio Suarez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA and the Ascacibar-Pérez players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 84th minute, Bonifacio Suarez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th minute, Elpidio Francis fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. A collision led to Ascacibar-Pérez getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Alonzo Eron hit a great ball. After having played for 89 minutes, Elpidio Francis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elpidio Francis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. André Monclús could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Luciano Estebano made a huge save. 97 minutes into the match, André Monclús had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luciano Estebano. Ascacibar-Pérez's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that André Monclús was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-9. When the match was over ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ascacibar-Pérez throughout the match.
