When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alfredo Martins made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Moussa Kabre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Joinville City - FSCMZ defense, Nestor Paraibano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Haji Sarap. When Nestor Paraibano came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Marquês de Herval fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nestor Paraibano couldn't finish the play. Horácio Abraão blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dida Taffarel having to make a save.
