Grentino FC's Falcão Sampaio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Grentino FC from getting a goal against them. Falcão Sampaio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lobo Zornoza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gualter Sampaio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juvenal Sergipano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Juvenal Sergipano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erasmo Simão in the 19th minute of the match. Juvenal Sergipano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Erasmo Simão's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. 23 minutes into the match, Grentino FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lobo Zornoza came free, but Falcão Sampaio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Erasmo Simão in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juvenal Sergipano saved CUITEENSE FUTEBOL CLUBE from getting behind. In the 26thth minute of the game Erasmo Simão who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CUITEENSE FUTEBOL CLUBE's Juvenal Sergipano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Froilan Calvino kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Célio Fontes got free with Falcão Sampaio in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Célio Fontes to strike the kick off in the second half. CUITEENSE FUTEBOL CLUBE's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
