In the 4th minute of the match, Luiz Guilherme Paraense tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Diguinho Carioca saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After having played for 7 minutes, Jeremias Maia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C o n f i a n ç a - SE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jeremias Maia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 10 minutes into the match, SAS's goal looked a bit too open when Jeremias Maia came free, but Edvaldo Brasil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luiz Guilherme Paraense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Diguinho Carioca read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. In the 14th minute C o n f i a n ç a - SE were awarded a corner. Charles Capixaba went to the cornerflag to take it. SAS's Edvaldo Brasil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeremias Maia in the 15th minute of play. Diguinho Carioca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Guilherme Paraense in the 18th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, SAS's goal looked a bit too open when Jeremias Maia came free, but Edvaldo Brasil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edvaldo Brasil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeremias Maia, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. In the 21st minute Clayton Pedron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvaldo Brasil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luiz Guilherme Paraense could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Diguinho Carioca made a huge save. Diguinho Carioca made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agostinho Carneiro in the 25th minute. SAS were awarded a corner in the 26th minute after C o n f i a n ç a - SE's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Agostinho Carneiro took the corner. The corner led SAS's Agostinho Carneiro to fire away a dangerous shot which Diguinho Carioca despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Nilmar de Queiroz fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SAS's protests and gave Nilmar de Queiroz a yellow card for diving instead. After 33 played minutes SAS got a freekick which was hit by Nilmar de Queiroz. Edvaldo Brasil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charles Capixaba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Charles Capixaba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute Jeremias Maia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvaldo Brasil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The SAS players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. C o n f i a n ç a - SE were winning 0-1.

C o n f i a n ç a - SE's Diguinho Carioca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Glauco Baiano in the 52nd minute of play. In the 57th minute Edgar Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diguinho Carioca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diguinho Carioca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agostinho Carneiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rd minute SAS were awarded a corner. Agostinho Carneiro went to the cornerflag to take it. Songur Ersalmış thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Diguinho Carioca, a very annoying self made goal in the 63rd minute which led to 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Guilherme Paraense in the 65th minute of play forced C o n f i a n ç a - SE's goalkeeper Diguinho Carioca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diguinho Carioca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgar Salles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Diguinho Carioca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Guilherme Paraense in the 73rd minute of play. Ernesto Monteiro was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 74 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in C o n f i a n ç a - SE fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 74th minute. Penalty! Diguinho Carioca had in the 76thth minute some difficulties stopping Nilmar de Queiroz's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Luiz Guilherme Paraense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 80 played minutes SAS got a freekick which was hit by Júlio Saraiva. After a rather tough play, C o n f i a n ç a - SE's Adam Eversden got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 86th minute, Clayton Pedron left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C o n f i a n ç a - SE fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Júlio Saraiva made in the 93rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by C o n f i a n ç a - SE's Jeremias Maia. 96 minutes into the match, C o n f i a n ç a - SE's Clayton Pedron sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edvaldo Brasil narrowly saved just below the crossbar. C o n f i a n ç a - SE played a much better game than SAS and deserved their victory. The SAS players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
