After a rather tough play, Jovens Democratas MZC's David Puyol got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 28th minute, Mete Gøl left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The PIAUÍ FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Mete Gøl could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Dalmo Saldanha made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Jovens Democratas MZC's zone, Mete Gøl stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dalmo Saldanha came out of the goal and Mete Gøl tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Jovens Democratas MZC's Chico de Sousa in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A sloppy throw-in by Dobromir Zagrodny in the 46th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by PIAUÍ FC's Mete Gøl. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Baturhan Oytun made a kick off. Dalmo Saldanha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baturhan Oytun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 60thth minute of the game Chico de Sousa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PIAUÍ FC's Iurie Chiriacescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dalmo Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guga Trancoso in the 62nd minute of play. Jovens Democratas MZC's Marco van Basten was substituted for Durval de Queirós. Dalmo Saldanha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baturhan Oytun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dalmo Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guga Trancoso in the 77th minute of play. In the 84th minute Vladimir de Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmo Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, Jovens Democratas MZC's goal looked a bit too open when Guga Trancoso came free, but Dalmo Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute Víktor Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmo Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 96 minutes PIAUÍ FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ruy de Brito who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Jovens Democratas MZC's corner Dominik Szoboszlai fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Iurie Chiriacescu quite easily take care of the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Jovens Democratas MZC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for PIAUÍ FC.
