Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Niceto Ihazintu took the kick off in the first half of the match. Dalmo Saldanha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodriguinho Linhares, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Natã Siqueira during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 6th minute, Natã Siqueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 8th minute of the match, Ruy de Brito tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ergo Muro saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Dalmo Saldanha came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Caatiba MZC's Niceto Ihazintu. But to his dismay, Niceto Ihazintu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Ergo Muro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chico de Sousa in the 21st minute of the match. Jovens Democratas MZC were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after Caatiba MZC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ruy de Brito took the corner. Jovens Democratas MZC's Ruy de Brito was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ergo Muro in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Dalmo Saldanha didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Niceto Ihazintu went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Chico de Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ergo Muro having to interfere. Niceto Ihazintu might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dalmo Saldanha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Niceto Ihazintu ran back to his position shaking his head. Dalmo Saldanha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niceto Ihazintu in the 33rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dobromir Zagrodny in the 35th minute of play forced Caatiba MZC's goalkeeper Ergo Muro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Niceto Ihazintu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 37 minutes into the match, Jovens Democratas MZC's goal looked a bit too open when Niceto Ihazintu came free, but Dalmo Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Jovens Democratas MZC's Ruy de Brito got a free kick in the 40th minute. 48 minutes had been played when some careless play by Jovens Democratas MZC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gaby Milito was slow to take the kick. During this time Caatiba MZC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Caatiba MZC's Gaby Milito to fire away a dangerous shot which Dalmo Saldanha despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After the first half Caatiba MZC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chico de Sousa to make the kick off. Niceto Ihazintu might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dalmo Saldanha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Niceto Ihazintu ran back to his position shaking his head. Jovens Democratas MZC's Dalmo Saldanha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Jovens Democratas MZC from getting a goal against them. Natã Siqueira hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Jovens Democratas MZC made a substitution. Marco van Basten replaced Durval de Queirós. Jovens Democratas MZC's Mexhit Koçi was substituted for David Puyol. In the 67th match minute, Caatiba MZC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Natã Siqueira to maneuver through the defense. In the 68th minute of the match Dobromir Zagrodny shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ergo Muro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Dalmo Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niceto Ihazintu in the 71st minute of play. Ergo Muro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonardo Guerra in the 72nd minute of the match. Caatiba MZC's Ergo Muro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco van Basten in the 75th minute of play. Jovens Democratas MZC's Dalmo Saldanha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niceto Ihazintu in the 77th minute of play. 82 minutes into the match, Jovens Democratas MZC's goalkeeper Dalmo Saldanha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Niceto Ihazintu. The supporters of Caatiba MZC booed when Jovens Democratas MZC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Guerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodriguinho Linhares in the 88th minute of play forced Jovens Democratas MZC's goalkeeper Dalmo Saldanha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodriguinho Linhares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dalmo Saldanha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. In the 91st minute Niceto Ihazintu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmo Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Jovens Democratas MZC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Chico de Sousa hit a great ball. The Caatiba MZC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Caatiba MZC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
