The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Scorpions -MM-'s zone, Ana Ţugui stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iurie Cocoș came out of the goal and Ana Ţugui tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 9th minute Flávio Ţugui shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iurie Cocoș saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iurie Cocoș didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Flávio Ţugui went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Dan Năstase received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Manole Tăcutu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th match minute, -BZF- Valea Buzăului was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flávio Ţugui to maneuver through the defense. Paul Baran hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. When -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Flávio Ţugui in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Scorpions -MM-'s goalie prevented a goal. In the 26th minute, Vali Surugiu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iancu Rebec took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 27th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Iurie Cocoș. Scorpions -MM-'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Flávio Ţugui had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Iurie Cocoș. Scorpions -MM-'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Flávio Ţugui was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Flávio Ţugui struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Iurie Cocoș didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for -BZF- Valea Buzăului. Scorpions -MM-'s Iurie Cocoș played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ana Ţugui in the 39th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Augustin Radu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Scorpions -MM-'s supporters rose to their feet, but Augustin Radu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manole Tăcutu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Ioanițiu in the 44th minute of play forced Scorpions -MM-'s goalkeeper Iurie Cocoș to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iurie Cocoș stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Flávio Ţugui's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. In the 47th minute, Ana Ţugui left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The -BZF- Valea Buzăului fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ferdinand Chirculescu to make the kick off. 63 minutes into the match, -BZF- Valea Buzăului's goal looked a bit too open when Ferdinand Chirculescu came free, but Manole Tăcutu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. -BZF- Valea Buzăului made a substitution. Sabin Cândroveanu replaced Emanuel Ioanițiu. Ana Ţugui could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Iurie Cocoș made a huge save. Vali Surugiu scored 1-5 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Manole Tăcutu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 89th minute, Aurelian Dănănae hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Augustin Radu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manole Tăcutu having to interfere.
