In the 3rd minute Afonso da Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Borys Gruchacz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 5th minute, Mané Lara ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ludomil Ziomkowski was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Guilherme Joinvilense got a throw-in 10 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Mané Lara. If Afonso da Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Joinville United - FSCMZ's Borys Gruchacz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso da Cunha in the 11th minute of play. Mané Lara might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ludomil Ziomkowski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mané Lara ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Virgiawan Laturua hit a great ball. If Mané Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 16 minutes into the match, CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Mané Lara came free, but Ludomil Ziomkowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eustacio Ikatz made in the 21st minute of the game a quick throw-in and Afonso da Cunha immediately put the ball in play. Mané Lara might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ludomil Ziomkowski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mané Lara ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After a rather tough play, CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Xande Campbell got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Ludomil Ziomkowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mané Lara in the 57th minute of play. Joinville United - FSCMZ made a substitution. Maurício Donatello replaced Mané Lara. Borys Gruchacz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonso da Cunha in the 65th minute of play. Borys Gruchacz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonso da Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rambo von Buol-Schaudenstein got free with Borys Gruchacz in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 76 minutes into the match, Joinville United - FSCMZ's Maurício Donatello sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ludomil Ziomkowski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 77th minute Alesandro Coutinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ludomil Ziomkowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 78th minute of the match, Rambo von Buol-Schaudenstein got a very nice opportunity to score, but Borys Gruchacz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 81 minutes into the match, Joinville United - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Afonso da Cunha came free, but Borys Gruchacz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Afonso da Cunha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Borys Gruchacz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th minute, CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Breno Torres dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Ludomil Ziomkowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maurício Donatello, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Afonso da Cunha's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 93rdth minute, Borys Gruchacz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Afonso da Cunha had several of the Joinville United - FSCMZ's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 93 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed Borys Gruchacz as he didn't even see the shot coming. Ludomil Ziomkowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maurício Donatello, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
