Dobromir Smolarek's late challenge caught a Aston Villa FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dobromir Smolarek helped the player get up and apologised. Dobromir Smolarek hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Nils-Åke Gunnarsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Radoslaw Mierzwa made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tim Lund during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tim Lund hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Nils-Åke Gunnarsson made the kick off in the second half. Nils-Åke Gunnarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Radoslaw Mierzwa having to interfere. In the 76th minute Joel Strömberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radoslaw Mierzwa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Kazimierz Kissel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 79 minutes, Filiph Hägg successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Juve Górnik Knurów's Radoslaw Mierzwa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Merrill Pryor in the 81st minute of play. Merrill Pryor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Radoslaw Mierzwa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th minute Kazimierz Kissel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filiph Hägg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot by Wlodzimierz Trzemzalski from long distance, 91 minutes into the match, got Filiph Hägg's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After a rather tough play, Aston Villa FC's Roger Winström got a free kick in the 92nd minute. In the 94th minute, Wlodzimierz Trzemzalski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
