Filiph Hägg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Czeslaw Czajkowski in the 15th minute of play. After some careless play in the Aston Villa FC defense, Czeslaw Czajkowski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Filiph Hägg. The Aston Villa FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Filiph Hägg should have stopped the shot. Åstäppa FK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 20th minute, when Nils-Åke Gunnarsson scored to the left of an out of position Charles Hughes, making the score, 1-1. With a little luck, Åstäppa FK's Charles Hughes got control of the ball when Nils-Åke Gunnarsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Åstäppa FK's Charles Hughes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nils-Åke Gunnarsson in the 28th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Czeslaw Czajkowski in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Filiph Hägg saved Aston Villa FC from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Czeslaw Czajkowski put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Filiph Hägg. When Nils-Åke Gunnarsson, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 47 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Charles Hughes was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Filiph Hägg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Örtendal in the 56th minute of play. In the 57th minute of the match Merrill Pryor sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Charles Hughes skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Aston Villa FC booed when Åstäppa FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Uno Lundkvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute of the match, Czeslaw Czajkowski got a very nice opportunity to score, but Filiph Hägg was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Nils-Åke Gunnarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charles Hughes having to interfere. Aston Villa FC's Jonas Forsberg managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Oliver Apelqvist in the 67 minute of the game. Åstäppa FK's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Peter Örtendal in the 77th minute. After having played for 79 minutes, Peter Örtendal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Åstäppa FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Peter Örtendal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 83 minutes into the match, Åstäppa FK's goal looked a bit too open when Nils-Åke Gunnarsson came free, but Charles Hughes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Merrill Pryor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 88 played minutes Åstäppa FK got a freekick which was hit by Ingmar Olofsson. The audience was convinced that Nils-Åke Gunnarsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Charles Hughes was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. Åstäppa FK's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
