Lars Norberg made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Kjell Åkesson sent off a good shot on target. 16 minutes into the match, JKs Talanger's goal looked a bit too open when Olof Hamnberg came free, but Walter Wallander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kjell Åkesson got free with Lars Norberg in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Walter Wallander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven Nordkvist in the 18th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kjell Åkesson in the 20th minute of play forced spikarna's goalkeeper Lars Norberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute JKs Talanger were awarded a corner. Edgar Davids went to the cornerflag to take it. JKs Talanger's Edgar Davids was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lars Norberg in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 32nd minute, Kjell Åkesson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lars Norberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. spikarna's Sven Nordkvist managed to work through JKs Talanger's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Sven Nordkvist dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 38th minute Sven Nordkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Wallander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to JKs Talanger getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Lukas Almstedt hit a great ball. In the 48th minute of the match Christoffer Hansson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Walter Wallander showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Lars Norberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Octavian Basten in the 89th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 91st minute of the game. One of spikarna:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of JKs Talanger:s goal. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind spikarna's goalkeeper Lars Norberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 97 minutes into the match, JKs Talanger's Octavian Basten sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lars Norberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ivar Askelöf kicked well hit freekick during the 100th minute of the match. Walter Wallander acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 101st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Christoffer Hansson. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
