Sven-Erik Blomkvist kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Jesper Trillkott hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. In the 6th minute Sven-Erik Blomkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sixten Ek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kent Fredriksson in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sixten Ek prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kent Fredriksson in the 9th minute of play forced Hammarby IF's goalkeeper Sixten Ek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 11 minutes into the game, Kent Fredriksson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Sixten Ek was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 14th minute, Jens-Ola Nyqvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kent Fredriksson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sixten Ek having to make a save. Sven-Erik Blomkvist took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sixten Ek. Sixten Ek dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Samuel Enström didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rickard Backman went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Sixten Ek didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kent Fredriksson went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind spikarna's goalkeeper Samuel Enström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Rickard Backman fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hammarby IF's protests and gave Rickard Backman a yellow card for diving instead. In the 41st minute, Rickard Backman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sixten Ek came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by spikarna's Kent Fredriksson. But to his dismay, Kent Fredriksson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. The Hammarby IF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. spikarna were winning 1-5.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kent Fredriksson made a kick off. Hammarby IF's Sixten Ek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kent Fredriksson in the 54th minute of play. In the 55th minute, Kent Fredriksson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 62 played minutes Hammarby IF got a freekick which was hit by Niclas Strömberg. With a little luck, Hammarby IF's Sixten Ek got control of the ball when Kent Fredriksson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jens-Ola Nyqvist's late challenge caught a spikarna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jens-Ola Nyqvist helped the player get up and apologised. After 71 played minutes Hammarby IF got a freekick which was hit by Jens-Ola Nyqvist. 75 minutes into the game, Jan-Ove Åberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. spikarna's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hammarby IF the free kick. In the 76th minute of the match Jens-Ola Nyqvist sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Samuel Enström skillfully saved the ball. spikarna's Samuel Enström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pelle Klintæus in the 81st minute of play. Tord Jansson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Enström having to interfere. The supporters of Hammarby IF booed when spikarna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kjell Trulsson didn't get a good kick on the ball.
