In the 5th minute Sigvard Wallander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Per-Olof Walroth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Wargön's Bubba Ba got a free kick in the 11th minute. A collision led to Strömsbro IF getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Jon Ivarsson hit a great ball. Ivan Billberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jens Ahlroht. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ivan Billberg ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 18th minute, Ivan Billberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Strömsbro IF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When Strömsbro IF's Jörn Hermansson in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Wargön's goalie prevented a goal. Per-Olof Walroth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wictor Pihlberg in the 28th minute of play. After some careless play in the Wargön defense, Ivan Billberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jens Ahlroht. The Wargön fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jens Ahlroht should have stopped the shot. In the 34th minute, Archibald Bergmark hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Bengt-Rune Törnkvist kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Per-Olof Walroth. That made the score 1-2 in the 40 minute of play. 43 minutes into the match, Wargön's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Billberg came free, but Jens Ahlroht reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nils-Åke Telin kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stig-Arne Ekblom to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Stig-Arne Ekblom left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Wargön fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Jens Ahlroht made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ivan Billberg in the 57th minute. After 65 played minutes Wargön got a freekick which was hit by Stefan Bergdal. 66 minutes into the match, Strömsbro IF's Bernt Löfskog broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 69 minutes, Felix Ekrot mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Strömsbro IF and the Wargön players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 69 played minutes Strömsbro IF got a freekick which was hit by Felix Ekrot. Per-Olof Walroth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stig-Arne Ekblom, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. In the 73rd minute Wictor Pihlberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Per-Olof Walroth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ivan Billberg came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Strömsbro IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivan Billberg couldn't finish the play. Wargön's Jens Ahlroht proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Wargön from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ivan Billberg got free with Jens Ahlroht in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Wargön were furious when Andreas Back was red carded, 86 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 85 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Wargön! Per-Olof Walroth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stig-Arne Ekblom in the 92nd minute of the match. In the 95th match minute, Strömsbro IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jens-Ola Norberg to maneuver through the defense.
