In the 18th minute Hector Hugo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Kristiansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aurel Crivoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romeo Gologan in the 24th minute of the match. Bengt-Rune Berg struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Aurel Crivoi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Di Röe. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Romeo Gologan to make the kick off.
