With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mon Postigo in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brais Morales saved RED STAR FC. from getting behind. In the 35th minute, Xu Xi Peng made a precise shot to the right of Xavies Berrez. Universitario's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Arnaud Lemmens's late challenge caught a Universitario's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arnaud Lemmens helped the player get up and apologised. In the 39th match minute, RED STAR FC. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnaud Lemmens to maneuver through the defense. RED STAR FC.'s Brais Morales proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save RED STAR FC. from getting a goal against them. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mon Postigo to strike the kick off in the second half. RED STAR FC.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lionel-Andrés Newell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. After a rather tough play, RED STAR FC.'s Arnaud Lemmens got a free kick in the 74th minute. RED STAR FC.'s Brais Morales played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lionel-Andrés Newell in the 75th minute of play. Genaro Buendia hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lionel-Andrés Newell in the 79th minute of play forced RED STAR FC.'s goalkeeper Brais Morales to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the RED STAR FC. defense, Lionel-Andrés Newell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Brais Morales. The RED STAR FC. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brais Morales should have stopped the shot. In the 96th minute there was a penalty for Universitario. Carlos Zambrano stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Brais Morales. 8-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Universitario had won after a very even match.
