When Traian Hăvârneanu came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the VB-Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Traian Hăvârneanu couldn't finish the play. 83 minutes into the game, C.A. LANUS's Julian Silviano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Armindo Salgado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Cristian Mergildo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Traian Hăvârneanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Cristian Mergildo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Caeiro in the 87th minute of the match. After some careless play in the C.A. LANUS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristian Mergildo should have stopped the shot. After 93 played minutes VB-Team got a freekick which was hit by Yu Ke Hong. Cristian Mergildo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Traian Hăvârneanu went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. C.A. LANUS's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
