The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 9 minutes into the match, Nestor Paraibano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emerson Leão. CANIL VON ZAATARI™️'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nestor Paraibano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldo Shantala in the 20th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nestor Paraibano in the 23rd minute of play forced CANIL VON ZAATARI™️'s goalkeeper Emerson Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that German Cano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emerson Leão was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. In the 31st minute Nestor Paraibano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emerson Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dida Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldo Shantala, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emerson Leão made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alfredo Martins to make the kick off. Sydney Quirino kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, CANIL VON ZAATARI™️'s goalkeeper Emerson Leão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nestor Paraibano. Dida Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osvaldo Shantala, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. After 95 minutes of play, Marquês de Herval's German Cano made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emerson Leão was left in no man's land by his defense there!
