Angel Zakov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ovando Jacolet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Angel Zakov came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by OLIMPIA's Ovando Jacolet. But to his dismay, Ovando Jacolet quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Angel Zakov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guillermo Paiva in the 9th minute of play. Guillermo Paiva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Angel Zakov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Guillermo Paiva notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of 30 de diciembre's Angel Zakov. Angel Zakov was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Angel Zakov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Salbatore Gainzarain in the 15th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Neymar Juniors left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. After some careless play in the 30 de diciembre defense, Neymar Juniors kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Angel Zakov. The 30 de diciembre fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Angel Zakov should have stopped the shot. Zé Augusto Fonseca kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Gigi Barboni was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 44th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After having played for 47 minutes, Braulio Sandaili managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. OLIMPIA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Braulio Sandaili was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-6.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Salbatore Gainzarain got free with Angel Zakov in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, OLIMPIA's Ubendu Cacho got a free kick in the 54th minute. A collision led to 30 de diciembre getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Luís Fernando Valladares hit a great ball. 57 minutes into the match, Guillermo Paiva dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Angel Zakov, 0-7. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Ludomil Filanowski took a quick shot and it went in 1-9 without a chance for Angel Zakov to make any attempt to save it. OLIMPIA made a substitution. Cordareo Bustillo replaced Salbatore Gainzarain. An unexpectedly hard shot by Almir de Andrade in the 87th minute of play forced 30 de diciembre's goalkeeper Angel Zakov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
