Emiliano Lesardo started the match with the kick off. When Deportivo Galicia's Leonel Mesquita in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Estudiantes de Merida FC's goalie prevented a goal. Bambang Sagala made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Leonel Mesquita sent off a good shot on target. Leonel Mesquita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Bambang Sagala made a huge save. In the 9th match minute, Deportivo Galicia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabian Cordearo to maneuver through the defense. 12 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de Merida FC's goal looked a bit too open when Leonel Mesquita came free, but Bambang Sagala reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Deportivo Galicia's Dong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emiliano Lesardo in the 21st minute of play. In the 23rd minute of the match Estudiantes de Merida FC got a corner. Deportivo Galicia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Moncho Arzube ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Moncho Arzube almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Deportivo Galicia's Dong did a great save. Sven-Åke Granberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bambang Sagala read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Leonel Mesquita who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Bambang Sagala when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 35 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de Merida FC's goal looked a bit too open when Leonel Mesquita came free, but Bambang Sagala reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th minute of the match, Sven-Åke Granberg tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bambang Sagala saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With a little luck, Estudiantes de Merida FC's Bambang Sagala got control of the ball when Leonel Mesquita tried to sneak it across the goal line.

57 minutes into the game, Deportivo Galicia's Sven-Åke Granberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bambang Sagala made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Leonel Mesquita took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bambang Sagala. Bambang Sagala dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Deportivo Galicia made a substitution. Svanbjörn von den Berg replaced Leonel Mesquita. Bambang Sagala took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Svanbjörn von den Berg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bambang Sagala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Svanbjörn von den Berg, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Deportivo Galicia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sven-Åke Granberg in the 70th minute. After taking down the ball on Deportivo Galicia's corner Sven-Åke Granberg fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Bambang Sagala quite easily take care of the ball. Svanbjörn von den Berg might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bambang Sagala. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Svanbjörn von den Berg ran back to his position shaking his head. Deportivo Galicia were awarded a corner in the 77th minute after Estudiantes de Merida FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sven-Åke Granberg took the corner. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Valdir Mattos during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 83 played minutes Estudiantes de Merida FC got a freekick which was hit by Bladimir Morales. Bambang Sagala took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Åke Granberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Galicia's Fabian Cordearo got a free kick in the 95th minute. When the referee ended the match the Deportivo Galicia players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
