In the 3rd minute, Luís Novaes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cássio Ferraz was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 9th minute. Olivedos's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Vilhelm Skoog received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Abelardo Maranhense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vitor Beckenbauer hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Abelardo Maranhense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Deilmison van Basten in the 17th minute of the match. Rodriguinho Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abel de Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 23 minutes into the match, ATHLETICO PRaiano's goal looked a bit too open when Abel de Godoi came free, but Rodriguinho Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abelardo Maranhense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deilmison van Basten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. ATHLETICO PRaiano were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after Olivedos's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gaétan Govou took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Gaétan Govou got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Abelardo Maranhense quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Rodriguinho Sousa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save ATHLETICO PRaiano from getting a goal against them. With an all-out effort, Olivedos's Rodriguinho Sousa threw himself towards the right post 35 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Abel de Godoi, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Cássio Ferraz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Rodriguinho Sousa made a huge save. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Rodriguinho Sousa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save ATHLETICO PRaiano from getting a goal against them. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abel de Godoi was the one to do the kick off. ATHLETICO PRaiano's Rodriguinho Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel de Godoi in the 55th minute of play. In the 61st minute Abel de Godoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodriguinho Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Deilmison van Basten struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Abelardo Maranhense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ATHLETICO PRaiano. In the 73rd minute Denílson Magalhães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abelardo Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abel de Godoi in the 74th minute of play forced ATHLETICO PRaiano's goalkeeper Rodriguinho Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodriguinho Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel de Godoi in the 77th minute of play. With a little luck, Olivedos's Abelardo Maranhense got control of the ball when Denílson Magalhães tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rodriguinho Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel de Godoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. After 96 played minutes Olivedos got a freekick which was hit by Luisinho Ceresso. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
