In the 15th minute, Falconara Albanese's Dráuzio Pontes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Matías Patrone. Matías Patrone yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Arne Grabner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdulhamit Beycan in the 22nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Oliver Bierhoff's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arne Grabner was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Falconara Albanese's Dráuzio Pontes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Matías Patrone. That made the score 2-0 after 24 minutes of play. 27 minutes into the match, Abdulhamit Beycan notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Falconara Albanese's Arne Grabner. Arne Grabner was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 29 played minutes Los Delfines got a freekick which was hit by Oliver Bierhoff. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomáš Kožený in the 31st minute of play forced Falconara Albanese's goalkeeper Arne Grabner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 33 minutes in the game Hilario Asteri did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Tomáš Kožený. Arne Grabner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdulhamit Beycan in the 39th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Falconara Albanese's Dráuzio Pontes got a free kick in the 40th minute. In the 46th match minute, Falconara Albanese was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wawrzyniec Knopek to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oliver Bierhoff to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Falconara Albanese got a freekick which was hit by Wawrzyniec Knopek. The supporters of Falconara Albanese booed when Los Delfines was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hilario Asteri didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Falconara Albanese's Arne Grabner got control of the ball when Tomáš Kožený tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oscar Orzaize got free with Arne Grabner in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Los Delfines made a substitution. Saverio Regis replaced Ambrosio Bartolome. Los Delfines's Victor Jerrold was substituted for Tomáš Kožený. Falconara Albanese made a substitution. Honorio Firman replaced Anier Omero. 67 minutes had been played when some careless play by Falconara Albanese's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lucas Urbez was slow to take the kick. During this time Los Delfines's players had a chance to rest. After 68 played minutes Falconara Albanese got a freekick which was hit by Kenan Bozdoğan. 70 minutes into the match, Falconara Albanese's goalkeeper Arne Grabner had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lucas Urbez. Matías Patrone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaarlo Menem, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
