The coaching staff of VERΛ protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Santos Eyague had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of OLYMPIACOS FC booed when VERΛ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santos Eyague didn't get a good kick on the ball. OLYMPIACOS FC's Haroldo Etxahun couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 8th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for VERΛ. The referee ignored OLYMPIACOS FC's protests and gave Elpidio Brais a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, OLYMPIACOS FC's Elpidio Brais got a free kick in the 20th minute.
