Apolo Naelio's late challenge caught a Club Atlético Atlanta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Apolo Naelio helped the player get up and apologised. After 14 played minutes La Gallardeta got a freekick which was hit by Apolo Naelio. A collision led to La Gallardeta getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Felipe Flores hit a great ball. Severino Rojelio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Flores, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Club Atlético Atlanta's Severino Rojelio got control of the ball when Ruben Dolfo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Severino Rojelio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Madeo in the 25th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Felipe Flores took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Severino Rojelio to make any attempt to save it. When Club Atlético Atlanta's Melquiades Salvatore in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye La Gallardeta's goalie prevented a goal. Leonides Pancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Severino Rojelio having to make a save. Club Atlético Atlanta's Severino Rojelio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Club Atlético Atlanta from getting a goal against them. In the 45th minute Felipe Flores shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severino Rojelio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Melquiades Salvatore to strike the kick off in the second half. Felipe Flores received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Severino Rojelio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 65 minutes of play, La Gallardeta's Casimiro Erramun made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Severino Rojelio was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felipe Flores in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Severino Rojelio saved Club Atlético Atlanta from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Casimiro Erramun during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 71st minute, Casimiro Erramun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ruben Dolfo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severino Rojelio having to interfere. 78 minutes into the game, La Gallardeta's Felipe Flores nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Severino Rojelio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Severino Rojelio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Club Atlético Atlanta were furious when Aquiles Oihenarte was red carded, 84 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Severino Rojelio came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by La Gallardeta's Felipe Flores. But to his dismay, Felipe Flores quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. Casimiro Erramun kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. La Gallardeta's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
