The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Paulo Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teofil Gierlach, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. 6 minutes into the match, Valdomiro Luz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alonzo Cordarin. Crosmayo FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Valdomiro Luz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Alonzo Cordarin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedro Luís Amaral in the 14th minute. If Arnaldo Inocente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Crosmayo FC's Alonzo Cordarin got control of the ball when Valdomiro Luz tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 29th minute Crosmayo FC were awarded a corner. Benito Lizer went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Benito Lizer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Paulo Leão quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 33rd minute, Valdomiro Luz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alonzo Cordarin was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Misericordia EC's Paulo Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Inocente in the 39th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, Arnaldo Inocente had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulo Leão. Misericordia EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arnaldo Inocente was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. 44 minutes into the match, Misericordia EC's goal looked a bit too open when Modesto Cayo came free, but Paulo Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Gaston Atauri came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Crosmayo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gaston Atauri couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valdomiro Luz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 74thth minute of the game Jeremias Tinoco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Crosmayo FC's Alonzo Cordarin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 77th minute Zbyszek Kostrzewski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alonzo Cordarin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zico Maravilha in the 79th minute of the match. 82 minutes into the match, Pekin Mahçupyan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulo Leão. Misericordia EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pekin Mahçupyan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-2. 86 minutes into the match, Misericordia EC's goalkeeper Paulo Leão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arnaldo Inocente. After 88 minutes Misericordia EC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Benito Lizer who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Pekin Mahçupyan managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Misericordia EC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Crosmayo FC for a fine match.
