If Giovani Monteiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. ARAUCARIA FC's Waldir Arantes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Murilo Vasconcelos in the 11th minute of play. When Gustavo Couto came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the ARAUCARIA FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustavo Couto couldn't finish the play. In the 16th minute, ARAUCARIA FC's Luciano Mazza seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Luciano Mazza the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of ARAUCARIA FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Luciano Mazza had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Murilo Vasconcelos shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Murilo Vasconcelos struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Waldir Arantes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for E.C Mont Castello - FDFDF. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Murilo Vasconcelos in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Waldir Arantes saved ARAUCARIA FC from getting behind. Waldir Arantes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Murilo Vasconcelos, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Samuel Oliveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gustavo Couto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 42 played minutes E.C Mont Castello - FDFDF got a freekick which was hit by Enio Montenegro. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Murilo Vasconcelos was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, ARAUCARIA FC's Arthur Meira got a free kick in the 57th minute. The supporters of ARAUCARIA FC booed when E.C Mont Castello - FDFDF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Teles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Waldir Arantes was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Hamílton Berger showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 63 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Couto in the 67th minute of play forced E.C Mont Castello - FDFDF's goalkeeper Alfredinho Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Murilo Vasconcelos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Waldir Arantes was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. E.C Mont Castello - FDFDF walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
