Theo Zoontjens hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Melvin Borgman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dé Andrade in the 8th minute of play. Gualter Brasil didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ruud Geels went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 17 minutes into the game, Wilco Kosterman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Gualter Brasil was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 20th minute Wilco Kosterman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gualter Brasil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SHINERAY FC - DMZ's Gualter Brasil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Theo Zoontjens in the 21st minute of play. After 23 minutes of play, Verwachting's Theo Zoontjens made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gualter Brasil was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 27 minutes, Dé Andrade mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SHINERAY FC - DMZ and the Verwachting players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dé Andrade hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Gualter Brasil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilco Kosterman in the 28th minute of play. Gualter Brasil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruud Geels, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gualter Brasil didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wilco Kosterman went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. When Niels-Jan Harmens fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Verwachting's protests and gave Niels-Jan Harmens a yellow card for diving instead. Wilco Kosterman charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wilco Kosterman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 47th match minute, Verwachting was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilco Kosterman to maneuver through the defense.

54 minutes into the match, SHINERAY FC - DMZ's goalkeeper Gualter Brasil had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Henk-Jan Opdam. Gualter Brasil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruud Geels, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. After some careless play in the SHINERAY FC - DMZ defense, Wilco Kosterman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gualter Brasil. The SHINERAY FC - DMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gualter Brasil should have stopped the shot. If Wilco Kosterman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the SHINERAY FC - DMZ defense, Wilco Kosterman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gualter Brasil. The SHINERAY FC - DMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gualter Brasil should have stopped the shot. Melvin Borgman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldinho Moreira in the 66th minute of the match. In the 68th minute Wilco Kosterman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gualter Brasil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 70 minutes of play, Verwachting's Ruud Geels made it 0-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. In the 87th minute, SHINERAY FC - DMZ's Caco Queirós seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Caco Queirós the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of SHINERAY FC - DMZ protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Caco Queirós had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 88 played minutes SHINERAY FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Caco Queirós. Gualter Brasil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilco Kosterman in the 93rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Theo Zoontjens in the 96th minute of play forced SHINERAY FC - DMZ's goalkeeper Gualter Brasil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Verwachting's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
